Danica: my goosebump moment was Marcelito Pomoy’s audition for America’s Got Talent with “The Prayer”. Marcelito’s voice is extraordinary, he’s a very talented human being. He is now one of my favorite singers in the world because any song that he sings gives me Goosebumps.

Coralie: my goosebump moment is a documentary about ballet dancer Sergei Polunin and then especially the part where he dances to the song “Take me to church” where you can feel all the pain that goes hand in hand with the special talent this man has.

Marta: my goosebump moment is the Prelude of the third act of “Traviata”, an opera by Giuseppe Verdi, a famous composer of Italy. I share a deep bond with this opera because my grandma always made me listen to it when I was a little girl. Every time the music starts playing I get chills. It is so beautiful, so passionate.

May: my goosebump moment is when I saw Kechi Okwuchi, one of the survivors of the Sosoliso Airline crash, sing at America’s Got Talent. She has been able to pull through the scars with so much courage. It’s amazing. She’s an encouragement for any young person out there.

Yosef: my goosebump moment was when I first heard the song “Iboprofen”. It is written by one of Norway’s greatest and most influential rap duos. The song is about Megdi’s childhood, one of the two persons in the rap duo. The song is very light. The first time I heard it, I got goosebumps all over my whole body. It was a truly tremendous experience.

Dean: my goosebump moment was when I first got to play the piano. I was about 12 years old, and a friend showed me. After five-six years, I finally had an opportunity to play piano again and it was amazing. I just love music in all aspects because you can create. I got shivers because playing my first song was so emotional. It’s all about connecting to people through music.

Misa: my goosebump moment was in 2020 when I heard a song called “PTSD”. It was such an inspirational song, it made me realize no matter how hard our life was, we can still achieve and be positive as much as we can. I was shocked and got goosebumps while I listened to the song. It is an extraordinary concept and nowadays it still guides me towards my journey.

Gofaone: my goosebump moment was when I first heard Lila Ike’s song “Solitude”. It is about peace, peace of mind. That is actually the first line. She is talking about how lovely it is to just be on your own, no gadgets, nothing. I can relate to it because everybody wants peace of mind and that is what she got. That is what the whole video is about as well. It makes you feel that sense of peace that she talks about.

Tatiana: my goosebump moment was when I realized that I could go to a Coldplay concert. They are my favorite band. When I was in the USA, I saw that one of my friends went to their concert, which meant they were on a tour. I decided to buy tickets for their next show. Then I realized that I was actually going to their concert. I felt real goosebumps, I cannot express them right now. I felt so grateful, so happy.

Ana: my goosebump moment is whenever I listen to the Georgian song called “Chakrulo”. The song is Georgian folk music and was one of the 29 musical compositions which were sent into space in 1977. The song is about a man who is fighting for his own freedom and does not fear anything. Whenever I listen to this song, it always gives me this kind of feeling that you should always be proud of your own country and nationality.

Diana: my goosebump moment was when I saw my favorite band Majid Jordan live for the first time. They do not usually do many concerts, I never thought I will see them live. They announced their album with 4 concerts dates. One of them was Brooklyn, which I was very close to. I got tickets with my boyfriend and we had an amazing night.

Ermias: my goosebump moment was when I listened to J. Cole’s song called “Love yourz” for the first time. J.Cole is my favorite rapper. His music talks to my soul. This song especially gives me hope and inspires me to follow my dream during my hardest time. The song is about fantasizing about other people’s lives by forgetting that the thing that matters the most, which is family, caring and love.

Marialis: my goosebump moment was when I was on my first live concert performance. It was in a local theater here in my city. There were so many people, including my parents, boyfriend, and friends. They were so excited too, I could see it in its eyes. I played the bass, it is my favorite instrument. We were five girls in total, playing covers. The band’s name was “Purple Nicotine”. I will never forget it.

Abdulraheem: my goosebump moment was when the African Grammy winner Wizkid released one of his single-tracks titled “Mummy mi”. Wizkid dedicates this track to all mothers across the world as he sings praise to his mother and the joy she brought to him. I was so excited and happy. I sing the song to appreciate my mum just like Wizkid does. I love my mom.

Jamaica-Audra-Corner mygoosebumpmoment

Audra: my goosebump moment is the song “Corner” by Tarrus Riley, Masicka and Dunw3ll. It is an upbeat song, but the message is what really resonated with me. It reminds me of the kind of relationship that my younger brother and I have. Eventhough we have not been together physically in the last couple of years, we stayed connected and stayed in each other’s corner. That song has such a powerful message.

Mali-Assitan-Toumani mygoosebumpmoment

Assitan: my goosebump moment was when I attended the concert of a Malian musical artist named Toumani Diabaté. Toumani was playing with the kora. Kora is a Malian musical instrument which has existed for several centuries. All of a sudden, his son, Sidiki Diabaté, who is also a player of that instrument, joined his father on stage. The sound of the two playing kora penetrated my soul. I was amazed.

Jamaica-Stacy-Kes mygoosebumpmoment

Stacy: my goosebump moment is a song called “Savannah Grass” by soca artist Kes. Every time I hear the instrumental to this soca song, I get all the feels and I feel very emotional. It is strange that a soca song would be the thing to give me goosebumps because I don’t even like soca. There is just something about the way the music, the piano, everything comes together, it is just a beautiful experience.

Sarita: my goosebump moment was when Karol G, a Colombian Reggaeton singer, came to her hometown, where I am from, and held a concert. We were given bracelets that lit up with each song she sang in different colors. The most amazing part came when she sang a Vallenato song, which is a very representative thing here in our culture, the whole stadium lit up with the colors of the Colombian flag, it was amazing.
